Celebrating Mother's Day on a Deck to Remember

Mother's Day Celebration with Iron Ridge Contracting

Mother's Day—a time to show appreciation for the moms in our lives with something truly special. What better way to celebrate than by hosting a brunch on a beautifully crafted deck, designed to complement the perfect family gathering? Let's take you through a recent celebration on a client's deck that we at Iron Ridge Contracting had the privilege to build and then decorate for an unforgettable Mother's Day.

A Deck Built for Family Memories

The stage for our celebration was a deck featuring extravagant double-border framing, lending an elegant and sophisticated touch. The sleek aluminum railing paired with matching black fencing framed the space beautifully, creating an open yet intimate setting. At the heart of the deck was a custom bar-top, which we adorned with champagne, an array of cheeses paired with blueberry bourbon jam, cheddar muffins from Wegmans, and a delightful array of flowers. These touches not only elevated the ambiance but also set the tone for a day of indulgence and relaxation.

Lemon-Themed Brunch Extravaganza

The theme of the brunch was lemon, bringing a bright and zesty energy to the table. This motif was woven throughout the decor and menu, starting with a vibrant centerpiece of lemon-themed decorations that stole the show. Seated in the family area of the deck, we enjoyed a feast that was as delicious as it was picturesque.

We kicked off the meal with this loaded baked potato casserole—a hearty and comforting dish. Not being fans of evaporated milk, we substituted it with butter and milk, adding a delightful fluffiness to the texture. For the main dish, we put a twist on the classic Caprese with breaded chicken Parmesan cutlets from Fresh Market, which were easy to serve and a hit with all the guests. Topped with fresh tomatoes and shaved Parmesan, and served over a bed of fresh arugula, this dish was enhanced with a Sicilian vinaigrette, also from Fresh Market, adding an extra layer of flavor.

Fresh Seafood Addition

Adding a touch of elegance and freshness to the menu, we included shrimp sourced from the local fish market, Capt'n Chucky's. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and served chilled with a classic cocktail sauce, offering a refreshing contrast to the richer flavors of the brunch.

Setting the Mood with Floral Elegance

No Mother's Day brunch would be complete without a special touch to make mom feel cherished. The flowers played a key role here, setting the mood with their beauty and adding a pop of color that complemented the lemon theme perfectly. Each arrangement was thoughtfully placed around the deck, ensuring that the spirit of Mother's Day was felt in every corner.

A Deck That Does More

At Iron Ridge Contracting, we believe a deck should do more than just look good—it should serve as a functional space for making memories. This Mother's Day event showcased just how versatile and inviting a well-designed deck can be. Whether it's a family brunch, an evening of entertaining, or simply a quiet afternoon outdoors, a deck can transform any ordinary day into something extraordinary.

We hope this post inspires you to think about how your own outdoor space can be transformed into the perfect setting for family celebrations and more.
