There’s something magical about sipping a fresh margarita with the sun on your shoulders and good company all around. At Iron Ridge, we believe your deck should be more than just an addition—it should be your favorite place to unwind, celebrate, and create memories. And what better way to break in your outdoor space than with this crowd-pleasing margarita and a build-your-own garnish board?

Whether you're enjoying a quiet evening or hosting friends for Cinco de Mayo, this simple setup brings flavor, fun, and a dash of flair—deckside.

Classic Deck Margarita Recipe

Makes 4 margaritas

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup tequila (we prefer blanco)

  • ½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4–5 limes)

  • ½ cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec)

  • ¼ cup simple syrup (or agave syrup for a natural option)

  • Ice

  • Coarse salt or Tajín (for rimming)

  • Lime wedges (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Rim each glass with lime juice and dip into salt or Tajín.

  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and syrup.

  3. Shake vigorously until chilled.

  4. Pour over ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

  5. Head out to the deck and sip in the scenery.

Build-Your-Own Margarita Garnish Board

Margarita with salt rim and fresh garnishes on a custom-built Iron Ridge deck designed for outdoor entertaining in Chester County
Our favorite inspiration on Instagram

This isn’t your average fruit platter. A margarita garnish board turns your deck gathering into an interactive experience that invites guests to get creative with their cocktails.

Suggested Items to Include:

  • Citrus slices: lime, lemon, orange, blood orange

  • Fresh herbs: mint, basil, thyme

  • Jalapeño slices (for the bold!)

  • Pineapple spears, watermelon wedges, cucumber ribbons

  • Pink Himalayan salt & chili-lime salt for rimming

  • Dehydrated fruit slices for a trendy twist

  • Edible flowers (like pansies or nasturtiums)

Arrange everything on a wooden board or slate platter, set it out with tongs and small bowls of salt, and let your guests build their perfect sip.

Decking That’s Built for Hosting

Your deck should be more than functional—it should reflect your lifestyle. Whether you're crafting cocktails or just kicking back, our decks are designed for comfort, beauty, and durability. From custom lighting and built-in seating to under-deck waterproofing and bartop railings, we build every space to suit your needs.

The thing I enjoy most about thedriftboss is how skill matters more than anything else. There's no shortcut to getting better—you simply improve your timing, react faster, and slowly master those tricky turns. Every new high score feels genuinely deserved.
